Pick a perfect wedding playlist
When you’re thinking about planning your wedding playlist, variety is key. You need a good mix of songs in there to get everyone up and dancing. An experienced DJ will be able to advise you what works when it comes to party music, and will have a solid playlist that works.
It started with a list
It’s a good idea to pick out your ‘must-plays’ and your ‘play-if-time’ tracks. We often guide our customers to pick no more than 10-15 ‘must-play’ songs. After all you want a DJ, not a juke box. A good wedding DJ knows which songs work, and what songs don’t. A DJ will be picking music for your guests to dance to. This isn’t the same as putting together a list of songs to play at home or in the car.
Even better, when you hire an experienced DJ, they can adapt the music to suit the mood in the room.
The do not play list
When Entertainmentpro is booked for a wedding, we always ask for a ‘do-not-play’ list. It’s your wedding, and this should be the one area where you don’t compromise. Here’s how to pull together your ‘do-not-play’ list:
Songs on the radio that you can’t stand? Maybe you’re just tired of hearing them. Add those to your ‘do-not-play’ list
Artists you hate, but maybe a lot of other people enjoy? Add those to your ‘do-not-play’ list
Songs you’ve heard at other weddings, parties or events that are just no good? Add those to your ‘do-not-play’ list and you won’t hear them on your special day
